Spa 是拉丁文 "salus per aquae" （health through water）.
中文也许可以翻译为“水疗”。

 

Modern spas have their roots in ancient towns famed for the healing powers of their mineral waters and hot springs. Travelers would come to "take the waters" and restore their health.
Today's spas range from a day spa, where people can drop in for massage, facials and body treatments on a day-use basis, to destination spas, where people immerse themselves in a total spa experience for several days.
