搭乘荷美邮轮(Holland America
Line)从加拿大出发，我们沿途经停美国阿拉斯加州的首府朱诺(Juneau,
Alaska)，隔天用完丰盛的早餐，打理好行李，我们准备下船到阿拉斯加州的“花园小镇”：史凯威(Skagway,
Alaska)，并开始陆地旅行。
这天的行程分为两个部分：
1.
White Pass and Yukon Route Railway：Skagway to Fraser, BC
2.
BC
Motorcoach：Fraser to Whitehorse, YT
正值July.4th，我们涌向史凯威的百老汇大街(Broadway
St.)，观看当地人举行的国庆游行。
身着国旗装的少女们令人眼前一亮！
仿佛穿越到一百多年前，街上的酒吧、妓院、淘金历史博物馆、工艺旅游品店、街头雕塑、历史博物馆等，特色鲜明，发人深思……
“怀特育空铁路” (White Pass and
Yukon Route Railway)曾是淘金时期的交通线路，建于1898年，如今沧海桑田，于每年5月9日到9月24日开放游客游览。
沿途我们饱览高山低谷、深峡急流、飞泉瀑布等怡然风光，享受其中。
3个多小时火车穿梭约60公里，我们到达目的地：加拿大的育空地区首府白马市。

晚餐我们排队等位1小时多，最终入座当地热搜餐厅：Klondike Rib & Salmon
(Whitehorse, YT)。
这家餐厅最初只是一个为卖面包而搭建的帐篷，如今享有“大声誉小餐厅”------Northern
Klondike
Theme
Restaurant，主营加拿大北方特色食物，譬如新鲜的北海鱼(Fresh
Northern Ocean Fish)、熏肉和野生肉类(wild game
meats)等。
…In 1929 the building was purchased by T.C. Richards and Willard
Phelps. They called it “Klondike Airways” (as seen on the North
side of the building) and it became a mail and freight business.
Although the partners hoped some day to buy a plane as a means of
transporting freight and mail, they neverdid. Using snowmobiles and
caterpillars, the company carried about 110 000 lbs of mail to Dawson
City each year. Before 1921 only first class mail
was delivered in the winter. The rest of the mail waited in
Whitehorse for the ice to break up and the steamers to sail. This
usually happened sometime in May…
