美国德州的达拉斯是一个大城,历史悠久看点多多。

 

   

    上个月下旬,我们去参展,一下飞机,径自到机场 (Dallas DFW Airport) 租车点取车。

   

    估计是晚上的缘故,美国道乐国际汽车租赁( Dollar Rent A Car)低价位的车只剩下2辆。

    没有选择余地,我们开走韩国起亚(KIA MOTORS)。

   

    该车的坐位设计舒适,一些类似存物小空间也非常人性化。

   

    可惜我们回程临上飞机前,问题来了。

    

    我们加满汽油,驶入机场退租。

    工作人员查看汽车油表后说,你们汽油没有加满。

   

    困扰就是麻烦

    尽管我们展示了加油票据,工作人员依然要追加汽油钱。

   

    好在我们不乏开车和租车经验,加上当时登机时间还富裕,于是坚持一起开车到机场加油站,共同见证确认。

   

    结果,只能加入0.05加仑汽油。

    白白浪费了我们宝贵的时间。

   

    虽然我们能够理解机场租车工作人员的坚持,他们有可能承载着裁员的压力,必须跟工作较真。

 

   

    同时我们也觉得韩国小地瓜可以继续吃,韩国海鲜可以继续用。

   

    但是通过这次经历,我们决定将来避免再租赁韩国起亚汽车

 

       Maybe that's why the rental company love KIA !

Be careful on the Korea car KIA gas gauge when you rent a car in the USA

 

   Usually you can fill the gas even 10 miles away from the rental return location without having to pay added gasoline cost. This is because the usual USA car gas gauge will still show Full when you return rental car at the car rental location. This is not the case for Korea KIA gas gauge as it shows slightly less then Full even when you just fill the gasoline at a gas station.

 

   My current experience was at Dallas Texas DFW airport at Dollar rental car location. DFW has 5 equal sized terminals and recently bankrupted American Airline main hub is in Dallas Texas with 3.5 terminals (70% of the physical DFW). Many airport car rental employees are under a lot of layoff pressure could be the reason we will treated negatively.

 

   When we pull into the car return line with our rented KIA, the line staff looked at the gas gauge and claim that it was not Full tank of gas asking for 1/8 gas tank gasoline cost. Fortunately we were not pressure for time so we ask to go to the gas filling station together. At the gas filling station, there was just 0.05 gallons of gas filled. So we did not have to pay 1/8 of gas tank (a little more than 2 gallons) which is about $10.00 From my travel and car rental experience, I will avoid KIA car or Korean car rental in the future because I suspect that all Korea car gas gauge could use the same design scheme.

 

 

    说到坏经验,顺便说说,我们在达拉斯某麦当劳,快餐外卖车道(drive-thru)的遭遇。

 

   

    买3.39美元/杯的芒果冰沙,再买3.59美元/杯的巧克力星冰乐,

    我拿一张20美元买单,服务生找零回来,一卷钱。

 

    同事在美混了20年,当场提醒我打开来看看,果然少了5美元

   

    事后我问同事你怎么这么厉害?

 

    他说那个年轻男服务生早就瞥一眼我们的车,知道是租来的,于是欺负人。

   

    看来有点坏心眼的人全世界都有,关键是咱们自己可不要缺心眼啊。
