在去往灵山的路上，有一个叫洪水口村的车站，那是公交892路汽车的总站，也是去往灵山的必经之路。这里有一个灵山古道森林公园，其实就是一个夹在两山之间的山沟。据说这是达摩曾来过的地方。

达摩是南天竺国香至王的第三子，刹帝利种姓。他的名字原本叫菩提多罗，成年之后依照习俗更名为达摩多罗，是印度禅宗第二十七代祖师般若多尊者的大弟子，成为印度禅宗第二十八代祖师祖。菩提达摩自小就聪明过人，因为香至王对佛法十分虔诚，因此从小菩提达摩就能够遍览佛经，而且在交谈中会有精辟的见解。他自印度印航海来到广州，从这里北行至北魏，到处以禅法禅教人。

沿着山间的小路，伴着潺潺的溪水，听着悦耳的鸟鸣，真像到了仙境。这里树林阴翳、蔚然深秀、林壑优美，时常有彩蝶飞来飞去，蚂蚱跳来跳去，甚至还在树干上看见了像蚕茧一样的东西和身上呈着金色的蜥蜴。一路走来，除了我们三个人就只看见一位老人拄着拐杖独自行走，莫不是达摩老人真身再现？也许是胆量太小吧，也许是怕主人等我们着急吧，或许是以其境过清，没敢久居，乃拍几张照片而去。
