今天是大女儿这学期上学后我们第一次到学校去开家长会，第一次见到大女儿的新老师，这位老师也是女儿在学习生涯中的第一个男性老师Beck.他是个瘦高的个儿，说话很快，给与我女儿很高的评价，说我女儿很有自控力，上课认真，学习的时候，精力集中，思维敏捷，反应快，参与意识强，积极配合老师，很有自信，数学已经是班上最好的一个，常常是一百分，一般班上只有一个或两个能够得一百分。

然后说到女儿的写作，她常不知道每一句子的第一个字母要大写，但是写的内容很不错，写作能力提高特别快。老师把女儿的写作给我们看，老师给她打了4分，并在上面批了一个EXCELLENT(优秀）。女儿的英语老师说她9英语提高也很快，准备把她转入更高的一级英语学习班。她是一个高高的有一点胖的白人女老师，戴着眼镜，她很喜欢女儿安娜，安娜更是喜欢她，特别听她的话，她说我女儿在班上介绍妈妈的时候说：“我妈妈是母老虎。因为她总是对我的学习要求很多，很严。但是我妈妈很少打我，一般都是给我说道理。我还是很爱我的妈妈。”我告诉女儿的老师，那是因为我要求她每天阅读半个小时，学习十个单词，暑假也要求她每天这样，外加每天写一篇短文。这就是为什么她称我为‘老虎’”。女儿老师笑了：“我希望所有的学生都有你这样的老虎妈妈。”记得女儿曾经告诉我，她班里的同学听说我不打孩子，都很羡慕她有一个好妈妈，他们的妈妈都常常打他们。

临走的时候，女儿的老师把女儿学习的资料给我们，让我们看看，然后让女儿带回去，下面是女儿写的文章，我对女儿的进步也感到惊异。

                        MY FIRST THANKSGIVING

At my fist Thanksgiving, my aunt, uncle, grandpa, mam, dad, me and many people I didn't know (but they are friendly), were at my uncle Bill's house for Thanksgiving. When we got there, it was almost dinner time. Everybody was talking. When I was coming in , my aunt showed me some kittens and cats at her backyard, and there were some wild cats too. I started to think my first Thanksgiving, so I was a little nervous ,because I didn't know what to expect I didn't know what to say, or what it was going to be like for Thanksgiving. As I went back to the house I smelled a lot of food like potatoes, clams, shrimps and turkey. I felt curious because I didn't know what was that big chicken on the table, because at frist I thought it was a chicken. My dad explained to me that it was a turkey. Then we had my Uncle BIll's food which were clams and shrimps , and it was delious. After I finally finished my food, I went outside and I saw some wild cats beside the house. Then I went there but they ran away from me. When I went back to house, the turkey cocked well, and everybody started to eat. I tried one piece but I didn't like it.

After I had done, I felt happy because I had nice day and I had a lot of fun. I learned a new holiday , and I learned that in every country they have different holidays. Why is Thanksgiving is important? I think it is because you are thanksful for what other people did for you.
