14日7时49分，青海省玉树藏族自治州玉树县发生7.1级地震。截止15日2时，14日早晨发生的7.1级地震已造成589人死亡，8000多人受伤，1.5万户民房倒塌，有10万户灾民需要转移安置。地震发生后，多部门启动应急机制，确保抗震救灾顺利进行。救援队伍、消防官兵、医疗人员赶赴灾区。部分救援人员已经抵达地震现场，正开展救灾工作。中央财政已紧急下拨救灾资金2亿元，用于青海地震灾区的抢险救灾、受灾群众转移安置和生活救助、伤员救治、卫生防疫等工作。
