WiMAX has been widely accepted and adopted as the new trend for broadband access in the current market. WiMAX is not just a communications conduit, but aims to provide superior quality services and enhance the user experience. Moreover, the demand for enhanced services, such as Mobile TV, which enables people to enjoy infortainment while on the move, has driven this trend. Using Huawei CMB (a simplified multimedia broadcast/multicast service solution), PCCW has proven Mobile TV a success in Hong Kong and with great market potential since the service launched in mid 2006. To this end, Huawei considers multicast and broadcast the ideal technologies to provide Mobile TV services. The presentation will show how WiMAX advances multicast and broadcast technologies, and how Huawei contributes to this industry.
