文徵明 ，名璧，徵明是他的字，别号衡山居士，长洲（今苏州）人。生于明宪宗成化六年，卒于明世宗嘉靖三十八年（公元1470——1559年）。他是明代著明书画家之一，书法秀婉功丽，小楷尤精。文徵明一生写了多次战国大诗人屈原的著名诗篇《离骚》，这本小楷离骚经帖，是文徵明八十一岁时所写，字的笔法纯熟挺秀，结体婀娜有致，难得一见，可称是他晚年的佳作。可惜原册后面已缺失280余字，今将清人邵松年补写的这段文字附印于后，以保持原诗的完整。
