青少年减负

　　As is shown in the cartoon, summer vocation is approaching, but the boy looks so unhappy. He is imagining what is sure to happen during his summer holidays: he will have to learn English, mathematics, computer, drawing, piano and many other subjects probably consuming all his holidays. Such interesting activities as swimming, skating and playing with his friends will be out of the question. The boy can’t help sighing:“ What a terrible summer vocation! ”

There are mainly two possible reasons for such phenomenon. On the one hand, many parents busy with their work are afraid that it might be dangerous for their children to play outdoors without their company. On the other hand, many parents are expecting their children to take advantages of these days to acquire more and guarantee a bright future for themselves. Accordingly, they press their children to learn what they think profitable for their children during the holidays.

Parents may have good reasons to do so, but they forget the saying that all work and no play make Jake a dull boy. They neglect the fact that no children enjoy learning all along without any entertainment because relaxation and recreation are essential to sustain their interests in learning and high spirit for it. Otherwise, they will feel burdened with their study, or even sick of it. Moreover, study also involves learning the outside world. Children can take part in summer camps, or other similar clubs to enrich their knowledge and broaden their mind. In view of this, children indeed deserve a carefree vocation. All the parents should relieve them of their pressure and return a carefree summer holidays to children.            

青少年减负

如图片所示，暑假就要到了，但是那个小孩看起来那么不高兴。他正在想象假期中一定会发生的事：他不得不学习数学、英语、计算机和其他许多科目可能会占去他整个假期。而这些有意思的活动如游泳，滑冰或和朋友玩将会变成不可能。他禁不住叹息：多么可怕的暑假！

主要有两个原因来解释这一现象。忙于工作的家长们害怕孩子到户外去玩会很危险在没有他们陪伴的情况下。另一方面，家长们希望通过这一假期使他们的孩子获得更多的知识并为他们自己保证一个光明的未来。跟着，他们逼迫孩子们学习他们认为非常有利于孩子的一切。

家长们可能有许多这样做的原因，但是他们忘了一句老话：总是工作而没有娱乐会使捷克成为一个傻子。他们忽视了一个问题就是没有任何孩子喜欢一直学习而没有任何娱乐因为休闲和娱乐对于孩子维持学习的兴趣和高热情至关重要。否则，他们就会感到负担甚至厌恶学习。另外，学习还包括学习外面的世界，孩子们可以参加夏令营还有其他类似的俱乐部去增长他们的知识，开阔他们的思想。

鉴于此，孩子们的确应该得到一个无忧无虑的假期。因此，家长们应减轻他们的压力，还他们一个无忧无虑的暑假。

逆境造就人才The adversity gives rise to talent

To begin with, eating bitter foods is necessary for a child. It can help children cultivate their frugal habits, and make them realize that what they eat daily is the fruit of the laboring people’s sweat. As a result, they will never waste anything when they grow up.  

Secondly, it’s essential for them to do hard work. Doing hard work will give them an opportunity to taste the bitterness of arduous labor and get them highly trained so that they will make progress quickly. Besides, hard work may enable them to cherish the fruits of themselves and others.

Lastly, children should be sent to the places where life is hard if possible. Human society is full of tests and trials. Flowers from the greenhouse can never withstand storms. Therefore, we must let the children face the world and brave the storm. It is in difficult conditions that young people can get the most training and learn how to solve the problems in various circumstances.

In short, adversity gives rise to talents. We should care about the growth of the children instead of letting them at their own disposal. Only in this way, will our young generation be developed into the ones who can

contribute themselves to our society rather than the parasites of our society.

1、让孩子吃难吃的食物是必要的。它能帮助孩子培养节俭的习惯。并且让他们意识到我们每天吃到的是那些辛勤劳作的人们汗水的结晶。结果，他们长大后就不再会浪费。2、让孩子们做困难的工作。做困难的工作会给他们提供机会去品尝艰苦劳作的苦痛并得到极高的训练以至他们能够迅速的进步。除此之外，艰苦的工作会促使他珍惜自己及他人的劳动成果。3、孩子们应该被送去生活艰苦的地方如果可能的话。人类社会充满考验和试验。温室的花朵经不起风雨。因此，我们必须让我们的孩子面对世界经历风雨。正是这艰苦的条件年轻人才会得到充分的训练并学会处理各种环境下的问题。

总之，逆境造就人才。我们应该关心孩子的成长而不是放任自流…只有这样，我们才能把孩子培养成为对社会有用的人而不是社会的寄生虫。

代沟On the Generation Gap

Conflict between the generations is nothing new. Owing to the widespread availability of education, youths of today are given more opportunities to study. Moreover, the influences of western civilization and modern concepts give them a new code of philosophy, which is different from that of their elders.

Nowadays, the youths do not blindly believe and follow what their elders, or ancestors have done. They have their interpretations for different matters. Their reluctance to follow the old teachings and sayings becomes the major cause of conflicts between the two generations.

Modern youths are tying to be revolutionary and are eager for changes. They always introduce new change to the old generation. However, the old generation, many wed to something of the past, is hostile to change. This always results in the young shouting:“stubborn”to the elders while the latter calling the young“rebels”.

There always exists a tendency for parents to interfere in children’s daily activities, insisting that homework be completed, while teenagers’ particular interests and hobbies are often neglected or even ignored.

Anyway, both the old and young generations want respect and have their opinions expressed. The old generation is enriched with knowledge and practical experience. The young one, on the other hand, is active and full of enthusiasm. Hence, if we combine the good qualities of the old and young generations and ignore their differences, we could build a better world. Therefore, the old and young generations should make compromise and coordinate their efforts in promoting the welfare of the people, and not in conflicting as they have one before.

代沟

代与代之间的斗争没什么希奇的。由于教育的广泛获得，今天的年轻人有许多机会学习。另外，西方文明和现代观念的影响给予了他们新的哲学代码，与他们的上一辈完全不同。

现在，年轻人们不再盲目的相信和追随他们的长辈或祖先做过的事情。他们对于不同的事情都有他们独特的见解。他们不愿意听从老一辈的教条和说教成为了两代人矛盾的主要原因。

现代的年轻人总是试图反抗并渴望变化。他们总是给上一代介绍新的变化。然而，上一代人，许多固守过去的一些东西，对变化存有敌意。这通常会导致青年人向上一辈大喊顽固，而后者又称年轻人为叛逆。

通常有这样一种倾向，父母们会干涉孩子们的日常活动，强调作业必须被完成。而青少年的特殊兴趣和爱好通常被忽视甚至忽略。

无论如何，老一辈和年轻一辈都需要尊重，都想有表达自己的见解。老一辈的知识和实际经验丰富；年轻一代，从另一方面讲，主动且充满热情。因此，如果我们把老一辈和年轻一代的好的特质结合起来，而忽视他们的区别，我们就会建设一个更好的世界。因此，老一辈和年轻一代应该适当妥协，协调他们的努力来促进人类的幸福，而不是像他们以前那样产生冲突。
