Explains Her Meat Dress to Ellen DeGeneres
After winning eight MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs)
on September 12, Lady Gaga spoke with talk show host Ellen
DeGeneres to explain why she wore a dress by Franc Fernandez that
looked like meat, Popeater.com is reporting. “It’s certainly no
disrespect to anyone that’s vegan or vegetarian,” Gaga told
DeGeners, who is vegan and said she gets most of the singer’s
outfits, just not this one.
Gaga, who wore the dress, her third of the evening,
while accepting the video of the year award, responded by saying
“As you know I’m the most judgment-free human being on the Earth.
It has many interpretations, but for me this evening it’s (saying)
if we don’t stand up for what we believe in, if we don’t fight for
our rights, pretty soon we’re going to have as much rights as the
meat on our bones.”
The ‘Bad Romance’ singer also said the dress also
means that she’s just not a piece of meat. DeGeneres then gave Gaga
a bikini and skirt made of vegetables.
