The Chinaman and the Chinese Civilization has descripted four characteristics of the human character. The nature of the Germans is depth and lack simpliciy.  the  mind of Americans is broadness and lack deep.  the mind of the English is simplicity and lack broadness.

Anyway, they all lack a quality of mind viz: delicacy. delicacy to a preeminent degree such as you will find nowhere else except perhaps among the ancient Greeks and their civilizations.
