Simple, Broad, deep and delicate

Civilization has descripted four characteristics of the human
character. The nature of the Germans is depth and lack
simpliciy. the mind of
Americans is broadness and lack deep. the mind of
the English is simplicity and lack broadness.
Anyway, they all lack a quality
of mind viz: delicacy. delicacy to a preeminent degree such as you
will find nowhere else except perhaps among the ancient Greeks and
their civilizations.
如果形容复杂的中国人？年岁痴长以后，我慢慢惊讶于中国人在社会生活中表现出的传统智慧，简单的成功法则并不适用于这种智慧，如果希望游刃有余，必须全神贯注。Delicate这个词很传神的形容出这种文化性格长期历练出的世事洞明、人情念达。喜欢辜鸿铭，喜欢这种简单而充满文化逻辑的形容和比较。
事实上，如果简单的把Delicate赋予所有中国人，难免过于狭隘，Delicate可以恰当的形容人类的智慧。
