8月，多伦多艾滋病大会去了，但稿件被冲，尚待刊发。

   马德里数学家大会没去，但还是窝在家里写了篇报道《陶哲轩：一个华裔数学天才的传奇》。

   如果陶哲轩在中国内地成长，他的数学天才可能被埋没，他也可能卷入中国数学界的一些恩怨情仇。   

  

    截稿时间过后，陶哲轩的父亲陶象国给我发来一封电邮，其中写到：

    I think you should be able to reach Terry's website – he is now back to LA, and has just updated its contents.  Go the "What's new" and read about the following statement: "Just for the record, in my own opinion, the work of Grisha Perelman in which he solves the Poincare Conjecture is by far the most significant mathematical work appearing in the last ten years, and I am truly humbled to have been selected to accompany his award."

    看来，陶哲轩对俄罗斯人佩雷尔曼的评价甚高。
