两个错误，

一个是拆分组合中，2016年第50），as you will come to see,是定语从句，非状语从句。

一个是前两天刚考完的2017年49题，and to broader education business sectors的并列问题。

特此更正。其他有错误的地方，请大家指正，俺修改。

拆分：

1 整个句子的主干是The changes…present…challenges to… and to…，

2 to the UK’s providers…是谓语动词present的第一个间接宾语；

3 and to broader education business sectors是and并列的present的第二个间接宾语。

单词讲解：

1）         identify意思是“认出，识别出，鉴别出；确认”等意思，请参考2012年49）题。

2）         sector是“部门，行业，领域”的意思。

组合：

1 The changes identified by David Graddol all present clear and major challenges是整个句子的主干部分。其中，主语是The changes，后面identified by David Graddol是过去分词短语作定语修饰changes。不能直译为“大卫·格兰多识别出的这些变化”，可以调整为：大卫·格兰多指出的这些变化。

谓语动词present clear and major challenges可以翻译为“提出明确而巨大的挑战”，或者“带来明确而巨大的挑战”。这个主干就可以翻译为：大卫·格兰多指出的这些变化都会带来明确而巨大的挑战。

但是考虑到present challenges下文还有to…and to…；present后面跟了两个见接宾语，组合的时候，最好说“给…，还给…都带来了明确而巨大的挑战”。再进一步考虑“明确而巨大的挑战”，其中的clear（明确，明显）整个形容词，本来修饰challenges，但中文，“明确，明显”还不如转移去修饰“明显给…，还给…都带来了巨大的挑战”，似乎更为通顺。

再整理后，组合一下整个句子的大主干，可以这样翻译：大卫·格兰多指出的这些变化明显给…，还给…都带来了巨大的挑战。

2 to the UK’s providers of English language teaching to people of other countries是谓语动词present challenges to后面跟的第一个并列间接宾语，中心词是the UK’s providers，后面of English language teaching to people of other countries介词短语修饰provider；直译是“给其他国家的人民提供英语语言教育的英国供应商”。但是考虑到从事语言教育工作，直译为“供应商”太生硬。其实provider这个词，从狭义上看，就是“公司，机构”。比如，新东方就是中国最大的私人培训机构，英文就可以说New Oriental is the largest provider of private educational services in China.。

这样，the UK’s providers of English language teaching to people of other countries其实就是“英国的英语教育机构”，其教育对象是“其他国家的人民”。这样，这个部分就可以翻译为“教授他国人民英语的英国教育机构”。

如果把1+ 2组合在一起，是：大卫·格兰多指出的这些变化明显给…教授他国人民英语的英国教育机构，还给…都带来了巨大的挑战。

3 and to broader education business sector是and并列的present的第二个间接宾语。这个地方很容易看错，误以为to broader education business sector是与上文的to people of other countries并列。笔者第一次翻译的时候，就曾犯过这样的错误，因为根据就近原则，很轻易的就以为to broader education business sector与to people of other countries并列。其实不然，原因在于，to broader educational business sectors，意思上与上文to the UK’s provider更一致；一个是“英国的教育机构”，一个是“更广泛的教育服务机构”，这两者正好有一个递进关系。

另外，上文有一个all的概念，也正好说明，present…challenge to the UK’s provider…and to broader education business sector，是给这两个“都”带来挑战。还有，下文也谈到了The English language teaching sector directly earns nearly £1.3 billion for the UK in invisible exports and our other education related exports earn up to £10 billion a year more.，一个是“英国的教育机构直接带来了13亿英镑的进口”；一个是“英国其他与教育相关的进口收入…”；这两个正好，一个是UK’s provider，一个是broader educational business sectors。

最后，broader educational business sectors是“更广泛的教育商业机构”，或者是“广大的从事教育行业的公司”。educational business是“教育行业”；sectors本义是“部门”，这里是“公司，机构”的意思，它与provider意思相近。

完整译文：

    大卫·格兰多指出的这些变化明显给英国的一些教他国人民英语的教育机构，还给广大的从事教育行业的公司，都带来了巨大的挑战。
