China's Global Search for Talents workshop in Hong Kong

The Center on Environment, Energy and Resource Policy at The Hong Kong
University of Science and Technology, and the Center for China and
Globalization (CCG) will hold a research workshop on “China’s Global Search for
Talents.” Details of the workshop are as follows:

 

Title: “China’s Global Search for Talent”
Date: 7 November 2011
Time: 5:00pm to 7:00pm (Please see following programme of the workshop)
Venue: Conference Room 1, Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce, 22/F
United Centre, 95 Queensway, Hong Kong (Exit D, Admiralty MTR station)
Working Language: English

 

Our four presenters include:

Prof. David Zweig, Director of Center on
Environment, Energy and Resource Policy, HKUST, who will speak on
“Bringing the Party Back In: The CCP Leads China’s Search for Talent”;

 

Dr. Henry Huiyao Wang, Director General of Center for China and
Globalization, senior research fellow, harvard kennedy school, and Deputy
Chairman, Western Returned Scholars Association, author of National
Strategy-Talents Change World, who will speak on "China's New Talent
Policy, Objectives and Opportunities";

 

Prof. Denis Fred Simon, Vice Provost for International Affairs, Office of
International Affairs, University of Oregon, author of China's Emerging
Technological Edge, who will speak on "Foreign R&D and the Impact on
China's Talent Situation",

 

Prof. Hugh Lauder, Professor of Education and Political Economy,
Department of Education, University of Bath,

 

Prof. Gerry Postiglione, Head of Division of Policy, Administration and
Social Science, The University of Hong Kong, will comment on the
presentations.

 

We look forward to a rich discussion. We are holding the
session in downtown  of Hong Kong to increase the attendance of people working downtown.
