最近，我就与Pangaea泛大陆号帆船有了一番“亲密接触”。

上周日早上（对我来说非常早，8 a.m.!）, 就来到了上海国际航运码头，登上了这艘巨型的帆船。“Pangaea泛大陆”源自希腊语，意为“大陆板块/联合大陆”。

这艘巨作的船长先生名叫——Mike Horn麦克·洪恩。只要随便在网上搜搜，你不难发现他名气十足，而且，他的经历独一无二。

而我，也从未遇见过比他还要无畏地追逐、实现梦想的人——在亚马逊丛林里独自呆了171天，跨越超过7000千米。而我，只曾经在亚马逊秘鲁地区停留了仅仅5个小时！那里的臭虫、蚊子、蛇和巨蚁，简直难以想象！更别说其它更大只的动物。不过，幸好我有2个导游与10个旅行结伴相随。但相比之下，Mike可是独自一人,没有人与他做伴！另外，他和他的一位朋友还在北极极夜的季节中度过了整整60天3小时（几乎全天黑夜笼罩！）。

这张照片中，可爱的中国女孩叫做李珺，她现在在深圳上学。17岁的她（2年前）有一天在报纸上看到一篇报道，题为“你想免费环游世界吗？”，她次日就在网上响应了这次绝好的机会。原来，这就是由Mike Horn发起的“Pangaea泛大陆”全球青少年生态探险。这4年当中，Mike将把他过往丰富的探险经验传递给年轻的一代，带他们去世界各地绝无仅有的自然胜地，并团结青少年的力量来保护我们的地球生态。经过在瑞士遴选训练营中智力、心理与体能的较量（登阿尔卑斯山、4天的定向越野、进行生态行车等课程），李珺从16位全球青少年候选者中脱颖而出，最后与Mike在 Pangaea泛大陆探险·新西兰站中相遇。

纯净无暇的新西兰峡湾给了她一生难忘的经历——与海豚、鲸鱼一同航行，与海豹做伴划皮艇，从雨林到雪山的徒步跋涉，夜间野外定向以及保护当地濒临灭绝的珍贵鸟种。

现在，她回到了中国，并决定开展一项保护海洋生态的活动“不鱼翅”。感觉非常有意义！

与它们濒临绝种的处境。（每年有上亿100，000，000的鲨鱼被捕杀，而渔人将它们的鱼翅（鱼鳍）割下来后重新抛回海洋，最后失去鱼鳍的鲨鱼只能失血过多而丧生大海）

2..由于海水污染，以及作为海洋生物链的最高一层，鲨鱼往往含有大量的汞——俗称“水银”的有害金属。

More and more companies are really aware of the need to preserve the planet and to pass this to the next generation. This story is about how Mercedez Benz presents another mode of transportation. This time, through a sailboat called Pangaea that sails around the world on solar power,wind power(the sail& the wind generator), and the power of the young generation!.

 Recently, one morning, I got up really early (8 am!) and was picked up to go the shanghai dock to get on a big sailing boat called Pangaea. Pangaea means ONE WORLD in Greek.

The man who is the Captain of the yacht is called Mike Horn. If you google him, you will know how famous he is. He is a very special man...i have never met someone who is like him, so devoted to what he dreams to do and so fearless. For example, I have never met someone who traveled through the Amazon Forest for over 20 weeks alone. It was 171 days and 7000km I was in the Amazon Forest in Peru for only 5 hours, and I thought it was really hard to deal with the bugs, the mosquitoes, the snakes, the giant aunts. not to mention the bigger animals. I had 2 guides and 10 other travelling companions... But Mike was by himself!

Then he and a friend went to the north Pole for 60 days and exactly 3 hours mostly in darkness( it was the winter of the Northern Hemisphere) 

I was absolutely mesmerized by him.

　　　She lives in shenzhen. One day when she was only 17 years old, (2 years ago),she saw a piece of news titled "Do you want to travel around the world FOR FREE" and she answered quickly online the next day.

     It is the Pangaea Project initiated by Mike Horn who wants to share his past explorer experience to the youth by taking them to the unique nature, and unite them to protect our planet. After a training and selection camp in Switzerland where 16 selected online applicants compete themselves intellectually,mentally and physically(they climbed up the Alps, joined a 4-day outdoor raid,learned eco-driving and etc.) , Jun was finally selected to the Pangaea Expedition,New Zealand stop. It is during the 2 weeks in untouched fjord land of NZ that she had a time of her life. She experienced a lot...like sailing with the dolphins and whales, kayaking with the seals, tramping from the rain forest to the snow mountain, night orienteering and protecting the local endangered birds.

    Now she is back to china, she decided to start a movement called STOP EATING SHARKFIN SOUP. What a wonderful project. Here are the reasons why...

1. The huge market for shark fin leads to the huge slaughter of sharks and their near extinction.

  Every year, more than 100,000,000 sharks bleed to death with fins slided by the fishmen who lived on such bloody trade.!

2. Due to the water pollution, and as the top of the food chain at sea, sharks usually contains great amount of mercury which is bad for health.

For the sake of the health of the ocean and our human beings, we'd better stop having   shark fin soup on our menu!
