COCA COLA sets an example for how to run a  Charity event!
 
I attend a lot of charity events, but I think some of them are truly boring. But not the one I went to the other day.  It was the annual charity hosted by Coco-cola to benefit the AIDS children in Yunnan Province.

Why?  First: the line up of the stars!  Who is bigger than Jackie Chen? 成龙  Liu Xiang?  刘翔? These guys walk around with body guards.  They were supposed to "protect" them although it looked at bit silly because in a ballroom at the Shangri-La, they did not need "protecting".  

Ms. World 2007 Zhang Zilin 张梓琳 was there too. See the picture? She is very tall,soooo tall!  But she is really pretty.  When I met her last year, she just got her crown.  While pretty but not as poised as today.  Today she is really confident and gets even more beautiful.  After a year being Ms World constantly in the public eye, she has now matured.  She also has good taste.  While a lot of singers and actresses dress by some fashion brands, it looks like that she dresses herself, but tastefully.  I really like her.  

2 Taiwanese singers.  Do you notice how many Taiwanese singers we have in China now?  A lot!  Will Pan潘玮柏 A Taiwanese born in America, speaks fluent English.  HE is a rapper.  Angela张韶涵 is another from Taiwan.  She has a realy pretty face. 
Lin jun Jie林俊杰 is a Singaporean singer who launched his first album in Taiwan.  So consider him Taiwanese too!

Liang Wen-Chong 梁文冲was also there.  He is the highest ranked golfer from China.  and the only Chinese golfer in the top 100 of the official world golf ranking. 

Since it is called a Gary Player event, so obviously Gary the legendary  golfer from South Africa was there!  He totally won us over with his charm, kindness, grace, energy and  generosity.  Truly an inspiration to all!

Retief Goosen, a South African Golfer, the 2001 and 2004 US champion was there too.  He is so  handsome.One thing about sportsmen...they LOOK so healthy.  They are usually tan and with nice built. ummmm...

One  part constant of any of the Chinese charity event is the auction. 

I do not necessarily see this part in most of the charity events I have attended in other parts of the world.  When the auction is not done properly, for example if it has  bad products, or with a bad auctioneer, it is really boring!  The Coca Cola event has done an outstanding job here.   I must say Douglas Jackson was super!  He jumped up onto the podium and helped to push the prices to sky high.  The most fun item was the one with Jackie Chan and Liu Xiang together.  They sang together and  put their hands for a mold with their signatures in a special plague.  This item was then logged on the Internet for further bidding from the other citizens.  I bet it will fetch a lot of money!

All in all, just at the event alone that night, the event make 7.2 million RMB!  A highest record that I know.  A grand success.  With this kind of money, a lot of children with AIDS will now get help to live a good life.  Congratulations Coca Cola.  You have set an example for how a charity event can be fun, entertaining, star-studded and also meaningful!
