While in Milan, i had dinner with the people who run the Sina Italian Foundation, the only semi government organization that is between China and Italy. Its aim is to promote cultural and trade relations between China and Italy.  

 

 

The President of this Foundation is a legendary Mr. Casare Romiti who hosted a dinner for me in his beautiful home in Milan.  Sig. Romiti is legendary because amongst many accomplishments, he has been responsible for the rise of the Italian economy after he defeated the ruleless dominance of the Union in 1981.  he was then the Head of Fiat car company.   

 

 

In the 70's, the Italian economy was a total mess. He also owned the largest italian newspaper Corrier della Sera etc. While we were having dinner, he got calls from all over the world, including the Italian Minister of Interior.  

 

He is also very  charming, intelligent and very very quick.Age does not seem to matter to him at all.  He will be in Beijing on the 15th of October to receive a big award in Beijing.  I think probably you will hear about him.
