Ancient City -
AnuradhapuraFive hundred years before Christ, cities palaces, temples, monasteries, monuments and parks were built in Sri Lanka. This ancient civilzation are abundantly extant today but can be reached by 125 km from Colombo.

Polonnaruwa200 Kilometres from Capital Colombo and south east of Anuradhapura is the Island's medieval Capital Polonnaruwa. Today's ruins belongs exclusively to the rains of King Parakramabahu the great who built huge resoviours, shrines , parks and gardens.
The Hill Capital -
KandyThe capital of Kandyan Kingdom in the 16th century is 130 Kilometres from Colombo and situated 465 metres above sea level. This Royal City fell into the hands of the British when the last Kandyan King Sri Vickrama Rajasinha was captured by them in 1815.
Wildlife86 species of mamels found in Sri Lanka and 16 out of it are endemic to the island and pride of place goes to the majestic elephant and sizable herds can be seen in the national parks of Galoya and Uda Walawe.Wilpattu and Yala are two sanctuaries can watch many species.
