As our society accelerates, some useful words are used frequently.
1.encroach on/upon
Websites are increasingly encroaching on the revenue of print publications thesedays.
2.prize draw
as to this word, I am very ashamed because I get nothing in so many prize draws at the end of this year.
3.tickets peddler
although the policemen try their best to combat tickets peddlers, I still can see so many rampant tickets peddlers. The railway authorities raised again the prices of tickets, but almost all people don't think this approach actually works. Ordinary people especially low-income people such as migrant works are affected dramaticly.
4.personnel savings
why are there so many savings for Chinese people? our income has been raised significantly compared with pre-reforms era, but spending in culture and entertainment is so low that it just holds less than 5% of total GDP in China. The gap between the rich and the poor are growing, people worry about their healthcare and education. maybe that is the reason why people close their pocket and feel pessimistic to the future. besides food,clothes and daily necessities, people have little money to pay for culture and entertainment.
5.Spring Festival Eve's family reunion dinner
from today's TV programme I am shocked that the family dinner are so profitable. a table of family dinner with the price of 2688 yuan have the cost of only 200 yuan. the restaurant earn the large majority of money. they even use some terrible methods to earn money, for example, they use lead line to increase the weight of crabs, or insert more than 250 grams water into one frog also in order to increase its weight. it's crazy!
6.why Chinese people are so wasteful?
Yesterday I accompany some foreign guests for lunch. we order so much delicious dishes for them. they are all shocked and feel so crazy for that! they said it's hard to imagine that why Chinese people order so much food for lunch and waste most of them after lunch. China is a developing country and so many people are stricken from poverty, some of which even suffer the danger of exposure and starvation. I also cannot imagin that! it's incredible!
