On Wednesday I went to capital airport to Shanghai, I will spend 3 days in Shanghai to attend intel development forum. The flight was a little bit late, about 30 minutes, but it's not too bad.

It took us more than 1 hours from Shanghai hongqiao airport to sofetel hotel in pudong. There was a badly traffic jam though not in rush hours. We went to Shanghai international conference center to pre-visit IDF. Many IT giants demonstrate their products or solutions by use of the booth. How powerful intel is!

In the evening we went to xiaonanguo to have dinner. abalone, shark fin,shrimp etc! but I can't eat these things at all, even bean curd! I must take food reasonablly.

Intel are pursuing the reforms from last year, which will shift from processor maker to platform provider. After reconstructure, intel have eight departments now. the organization of intel is named by its customer, not by technology. The first presentation is very impressive, its title is: growth comes back. Indeed the growth of IT is coming back since the burst of bubble.

Digital home is one of the greatest strategies in Intel's future. Intel is combining pc makers, contents providers and software enterprises to provide digital home solutions. According my understanding intel's digital home strategy will make users enjoy best multimedia experience by pc at home.for instance people can watch TV, listen music, see photo slides by remote control.

multi-core is another title of IDF. As intel claims, multi-core can achieve faster, better experience. "performance per watt" is a new term intel invented. Intel declares that its technology can decrease power consumption, increase performance. I think maybe intel's new term is enlightened by China's "balanced development"
strategy.

We drove to hongqiao airport in the afternoon on Friday. It was very congested because of the rain and weekend. Fortunately we arrived at the airport on time, but we were informed that the flight was delayed for flow control of Beijing. We had to wait in the airport lounge. I am wondering why so many flights delayed everday. Till 8:00 we began to board after 2 hours.

I was shocked by an article "deadly Avian flu" in caijing On the way. Avian flu is very horrible, which is spreading from poultry to people dramaticly. In 1918 a kind of avian flu named "spain flu" caused more than 20 million people die. It's More terribl for China that the government is not transparent and responsible for the deadly desease. The caijing magazine worried SARS tragedy maybe happen in avian flu. In China the ministry of health takes charge of the health of people, but the ministry of agriculture takes charge of the poultry. The bad cooperation between the two section maybe undermine the prevention of avian flu.

I reached beijing on 22:30 safely.
