【中文摘要】(一)研究动机：飞天在敦煌壁画绘画艺术题材中是一支奇葩。在众多佛教艺术题材中也别具一格，她属于一种佛教造型艺术。飞天以在中国敦煌地区，以及在敦煌壁画中出现最多，原始的意义在于“教化”的目的，以及提升人对于“美学”的一种概念与“美”的标准。透过对飞天的研究，不但可了解中国文化中美的本质，亦能了解佛教文化透过汉文化的洗礼，又再度重新创造出更深沉，更富有内涵的新的佛学理念出来。因此希望藉由对敦煌壁画中飞天的研究，来探讨飞天思想在中国文化中的价值和影响。
(二)研究方法：本论文在研究方法上分为三部份。第一部份探讨飞天的起源和飞天在敦煌壁画中关于“出生”的问题所形成的观念。第二部份探讨的是飞天在敦煌壁画中所展现的形式和活动范围。第三部份是探讨飞天在中国人精神领域中所展现的价值观。因此，举凡宗教的、思想的、时代背景的、舞乐的、绘画技法的演变，以及对后世的影响状况，皆在此论文中有所探讨。
本研究藉由文献的收集，与历史上已出现的考证数据，以及地理、历史、宗教经典、古籍等书籍、画册，寻找敦煌壁画所描绘之内容，加以比对、印证、引证而成。
(三)研究结果：本论文之研究心得是敦煌壁画中的飞天不但创造了极乐世界的精神凝聚力，本身意义不并不限于“美”的展现，实则赋有提升佛教艺术内涵的功能，也赋有文化上、艺术史、画史时代意义的传承价值。完成了中国人在追求性灵至美的精神领域中一种完美的型式。因此飞天对于现今的人来说，其意义是多方面的。

【英文摘要】Research Motive:The Flying Art is a marvelous and unique subject of Dun-huang Wall-painting. It not only has a special style in Buddhist Art but also belongs to a kind of Buddhist Modeling Art. Most Flying Art were discovered in Dun-huang especially appeared on the Dun-huang Wall-painting. The initial target of Flying Art is to educate, inspire, and promote the admiration of Western Paradise to Chinese people. Since Flying Art was developed more than 1000 years, it gradually formed a aesthetic concept to involve and move Chinese nowadays. Through the research of Flying Art, we can not only realize the aesthetic of Chinese culture but also the new Buddhist concept involved by the culture of han. By the research of the Flying Art of Dun-huang Wall-painting, I hope to explore and discuss the Flying Art’s value and influence in Chinese culture.
　Research Methods:The methods adopted in this thesis can be divided into three parts: (1) a discussion of the origin of the Flying Art and the Flying Art showed “birth” ideas in
 Dun-huang Wall-painting. (2) a research of the style and the sphere of activities in the Flying Art of Dun-huang
 Wall-painting. (3) the value and aesthetic of Chinese involved by the Flying Art of Dun-huang Wall-paintng.　The research contains the development of religion, ideology, times background, dance and music, and painting skills. It is basis on the collection of textual researches, and also the classics of geography, history, and religion.
Research Results:As to creative works, I found that the meaning of Flying Art of Dun-huang Wall-painting is not only limited to spread out the “beauty”, it is given to promote the cultivation of Buddhist Art and pass on the times and culture meaning in Art and Painting history. The Flying Art of Dun-huang Wall-painting has shown Chinese a perfect style to go after the wonderful spirit and characteristics.
