during ----- 在...期间 或 在...期间的某个时间点上发生或做了某事(间断的或一次性的状态或行为) 

A Mr. Smith called twice during your absence ［＝in your absence］.你不在的时候,有个史密斯先生来过两次电话. 

He left during the afternoon. 他于下午动身 

He fell asleep during the lesson. 他在上课时睡着了。 

They swim every day during the holidays. 他们在假期天天游泳。

during: 在某段时间中，在某事件期间中；

for:持续的时间，主谓语持续的时间，后多接数词；

over:在某段时间，从头至尾。

三、During 表示”在．．．期间，发生了．．”

OVER则可以表示”一边．．．一边．．．”

其实它们的区别没什么的。估计你是个高中生，对这种问题很是纠结。我建议你在遇到类似的情况时，先看看牛津高阶英汉词典上的英文解释（慢慢会习惯的）；如果还是无法区分那你就只记住与各个词相关的常用短语搭配，不会很多的。像这种情况的区别其实主要是语言习惯问题，不是纯粹的语法现象。比方汉语中“看”、“见”都是看到的意思，但我们分别时说“再见”而不是“再看”，道理是一样的。
