Unit 1 Living well

I forgot to ask you to go to the community service center.

I don’t know where to find such a kind of button.

Unit 2 Robots

That book on th Holy Bible needs to be returned to the library by/before the end of the week.

That old armchair is to be replaced by a sofa next week.

3. 不要着急，你有足够的时间把那个传真发到你的公司。

Don’t worry — you still have plenty of time for that fax to be sent to your company.

4. 你同妻子离婚的决定必须要得到她的同意。

Your decision to divorce your wife has to be made with her agreement.

5. 刚刚出了一起事故，不过没有必要惊慌，没有人受伤。

There has been an accident but there is no need to be alarmed. Nobody has been hurt.

6. 虽然她考得不错，但是她预料父母还是会对考试的结果感到失望。

Although she had done well, she expected her parents to be disappointed by her exam results.

7. 当在医院进行大手术的时候，她得到了家人的关爱和支持，（为此）她感到非常高兴。

She was happy to be supported by the affection of her family when she had a serious operation in hospital.

He was so excited to be declared the winner of the talent competition.

Unit 3 Under the sea

Unit 4 Sharing

The other day the tailor received a new sewing machine that was donated by a charity organization.

This is a jar in which you can store seeds.

The moment when I clicked my fingers was the sign to star the concert.

 

Unit 5 Traveling abroad

1. 因为天气炎热，屋里的狗狂吠不止。

The dog in the room barked very loudly because it was so hot.

2. 经纪人正在物色一个既有英语本科学位而且还在出版社工作过的人。

The agent is looking for a person who holds a bachelor’s degree in English and has worked in a publishing company.

3. 如果你想在一块木头上钻孔，就需要一个钻机。

If you want to make a hole in a piece of wood you need a drill.

4. 这台机器要么使用家用电力，要么使用几组电池，都可以工作的很好。

This machine works very well either with household electricity or several batteries.
