Anagram是英语纵横字谜游戏（crossword
puzzle）中一种常见的高难度技巧。Merriam-Webster给出的定义是：a word
or phrase made by transposing the letters of another word or
phrase。Longman Dictionary of Contemporary English则把它定义为：a
word or phrase that is made by changing the order of the letters in
another word or
phrase（改变某个词或短语的字母顺序后构成新词或短语），可译为“变位词（组）”，也可称为“回文构词法”。例如：

Anagrams!
Have more fun with English words! Anagrams are words or phrases
that you can rearrange into another word or phrase, using the same
letters. Often, the resulting new word will carry a meaning related
to the original word. Sounds complicated? It’s easy to understand
with this example:
Let’s take the word DORMITORY and rearrange it
using the letters D, O, R, M, I, T, O, R and Y. Now, we can form
the new phrase DIRTY ROOM.
Here’s
another try: Break the word LISTEN down into L, I, S, T, E and N,
and try to rearrange the letters into a new word. How about S I L E
N T? SILENT is an anagram of LISTEN.
