Since opening in February 2010, the new high speed railway linking the two central Chinese cities of Xi'an and Zhengzhou has not only cut travel time much shorter, it's also made taking the train a more pleasant experience than it used to be.

The new route cuts through an area of central China estimated to be home to around 100 million people. Huashan Station is one of the stops along the way The spacious^® $3) new building employs cutting edge technology and design to make the experience of traveling a joy, rather than a pain. Passengers here seem more than content at this new style of travel.

One of the passengers said, "I used to always take the plane, but after the high-speed railway opened, I now usually go by train. I’ve traveled on high-speed trains in other countries, but I think the facilities of Chinese trains are better and faster than those abroad."

Stepping onboard one of China's new high speed trains, you could be forgiven for thinking you had just entered an aircraft. The inside of the train is new, clean, spacious and very thoughtfully designed.

The train journey is so smooth it's difficult to imagine that you are traveling at over 300km per hour. What makes the journey even more comfortable is the service. Si Wen is a stewardess working on the Xi-an - Zhengzhou line. She says customer satisfaction is one of the main goals of her job.

"The comfort of foreign tourists, senior citizens, children and the disabled is a top priority for us. Our employees are required to be on duty during the whole trip. If anyone needs help, we can offer a hand immediately Of course, if they don't, we won't bother American-Chinese movie Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, and take home spring rolls from one of the many Chinese restaurants in town.

The Xi'an Zhengzhou line has not come cheap costing over billion dollars. But it has proved so popular, flights between the two cities have now stopped because they are no longer emit about

The so-called Americanization phenomenon seems to be more consequence of the recent globalization in our world. If we find American products worldwide, it is also increasingly common to find Asian products in the United States.

Going to any country in Asia nowadays, we are going to see many of the American icons everywhere. A few years ago when I was in Ho-Chi-Min City, formerly Saigon, I was completely surprised at the number of billboards advertising products from multinational companies, many of them American. It is unforgettable for me — the vision of the eye-catching coca cola billboard

 on a Ho Chi-Min street

Living in the United States now, I am discovering many Asian products in America, from

food to movies, in one day in San Francisco, or Seattle, or Houston, we can buy Sisheido cosmetics (化妆品) from Japan at the Galleria Mall, have sushi(寿司)                                          and sashimi(生鱼片) in

one of the many Japanese restaurants in the city, go to the cinema and enjoy the beautiful American-Chinese movie Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, and take home spring rolls from one of the many Chinese restaurants in town.

I know that many people would like to hold back the globalization process in the world because they think they are losing their own culture, but it is very difficult to stop this process. We can only try to be critical and choose what is better for us to have or to buy.

However, many people think that young people are not free to choose when they are constantly exposed to attractive advertisements which are specially made to capture the youth market. Peaceful protests ( 抗议 )could be arranged just to help people to think about the situation, but the tendency in our world is to want globalization but not like where the different products come from.

64.   The article mainly talks about______ .

A. the impact of globalization              B. the Americanization phenomenon

C. the impact of Asia on the United States

D. the popularity of American products in Asian countries

65. Which of the following impressed the author of the passage most?

A. Sisheido cosmetics from Japan,

B. Chinese and Japanese foods in American cities.

C. The beautiful American-Chinese movie.

D. The attractive advertisement for an American product,

66. One of the consequences of the globalization is that people are worried about           .

A. the loss of their own culture                           B. the quality of Asian products

C. the spread 6f American culture                       D. the freedom to choose products

67.   What can we learn from the last paragraph?

A. The recent globalization is a natural consequence of Americanization.

B. Fantastic advertisements may do harm rather than good to young people.

C. People care too much about cultural differences in the process of globalization.

D. All of us should make every effort to hold back the process of globalization,
