杂谈

The announcement went well this morning except that I was asked to say something right after it. Last week I was informed that the meeting would be very short, about 10 minutes, so I didn’t think I had to say anything. Thank God, the colleague who was appointed as deputy director at the same time spoke first. He made a written speech, and gave me several minutes to prepare.

I was not very panicked, or excited, on the contrary, I felt pretty quiet, maybe because this process has been carried out for like ages, and I don’t think things will change much……

William has not looked at me with greater respect and authority (like I wished), on the contrary, he’s made more and more joke of me and turned more and more deaf ears to me as he grows up. He began to enjoy his winter vacation from today, and has been a couch potato for a whole day.  o(︶︿︶)o

His father hasn’t come home yet. He is always crazy busy. In the weekends when he doesn’t work, (some Saturday or Sunday he has to work too), he just becomes a bigger couch potato. I’m worried about his health—he is a little too fat.  (_)

Recently a saying is popular on line:

Spend your weekend like this: imagine yourself as a vegetable, and imagine your bed as a piece of fertile land; plant the vegetable into the land, and cultivate it to be fresh and tender.

I spent last weekend almost like that, imagining myself as a Dabaicai, which is called Chinese leaf in English I remember. (*^__^*)

The world is not very perfect and the work is not very easy, so maybe we should treat ourselves a little better.
