胡杨是大西北最古老的树种，它生长在最恶劣、最残酷的气候环境之中，它们耐寒、耐热、耐碱、耐涝、耐干旱，用不屈不挠的身躯阻挡了沙暴对绿洲的侵袭，组成一条雄伟壮阔的绿色长廊，创造了“丝绸之路”的文明。

胡杨是西北人心中的“英雄树”， 它不但有美丽的叶片，还拥有铮铮铁骨，所以人们这样赞美胡杨：活着昂首一千年，死后挺立一千年，倒下不朽一千年……
