Ancient Men and Modern Men

题记：今天（阳历2021年2月28日，农历正月十七）早晨记者李声波先生发来问候语：“愿我们今天的匆匆，换得来明日的从容。早上好！”读毕，联想起昨夜读的一篇网文内容，遂写了如下一篇英文诗歌，作为那篇文章的读后感。我每写一段就发给加拿大朋友Douglas
Bartake，他表示赞同，并仿照我的句式也写了一段，我就拿来作为全诗的一个总结，衔接得真是天衣无缝！
In ancient times
men were men and machines were
machines.
In modern times
men become machines and machines become
men.
In ancient times
men lived a peaceful life, singing and
dancing, reading and writing poems.
In modern times
men live a hurried life, working like machines, caring about
nothing but money.
In ancient times
women lived on men.
In modern times
men and women live on money.
In ancient times
men enjoyed life.
In modern times
men are burdened by life.
In ancient times
men felt all the more friendly, always living
together.
In modern times
men feel more and more lonely, although living
together.
In ancient times
men were imagining problems.
In modern times
men are facing problems.
In ancient times
men lived with QUALITY.
In modern times
men live with QUANTITY!
In ancient times
men lived happily most of the time.
In modern times
men are living unhappily all the time.
