Crisis On Chivas And Hill & Knowlton

Chivas' scandal of making fake wine has been widely exposed by
different papers in China. I don't think there is any way to take
back. The reputaion and image have been totally ruined. It doesn't
seem PR can help any this time. Hill & Knowlton
also didn't handle this well. They shouldn't have stopped and
exasperated the journalist from IFN. Thus, one more problem has
been brought up, while the first one isn't solved yet.
Some
fellows discussed the freedom of public voice. A friend told me:
"If you go to a press conference without invitation in Japan, you
will be stopped. " Other fellows think press conference should be
open to everybody. In actual fact, it doesn't make any sense to
stop journalists going to a press conference. The released news
will be known by everybody soon. IFN sure has the right to put on
any news. Editorial is definitely supposed to be free. It's just
useless to condemn. It is just disgusting some unqualified PR
agencies bribe journalists. On another hand, journalists should
never take briberies. It won't bring any objective coverage. Some
people just don't even know journalism at all. No wonder they
always have wired ideas and conclusions.
