This
conversation happened while my boss and I were travelling in Jinan.
My boss and I were in a taxi.
Me:
Are you ready for the lunch later?
Boss:
Yeah!
Me: I
think the man we meet later is a typical example.
Boss:
Yeah!
Me:
Did you carry out other tasks well these days in
Jinan?
Boss:
Yeah!
Driver: Young man! Is he from USA?
Me:
Right!
Driver:He must speak English then?
Me:
True.
Driver: What does "Yeah" mean in English?
Me:
It means right or true or "Shi" in Chinese.
Driver: Gotcha! I ask this, because I heard "Yeah" a lot of
times from foreign porn DVDs.
(Funny! Isn't it? BTW, this
driver really doesn't know a word of English.)
