Li Hou and John Ma both have achieved high artistic attainments in realism and traditional painting, however, they meet each other by chance with two different forms of expression in their art exploration and mix together with their common spiritual ethics and the strong sense of responsibility for the integration of the traditional Chinese culture and western culture.

Modern painting art goes beyond the visual sense and focuses on the mental apperception and artistic spirit. The works of the two painters integrate the culture of the age and the spiritual feeling into the techniques and forms of art with huge power and appeal, of which the creativity and eternity are for our deeper thought and appreciation.

The unique and creative techniques are only the forms of modern painting, it is the spiritual energy representing the personality of the painter that is considered the soul of the painting.
