　　1947年，原名Steven Georgiou的Cat Stevens生于英国伦敦。他以“Cat Stevens”作为艺名开始了自己的歌手生涯，代表作包括《Morning Has Broken》，《Lady D'Arbanville》，《Wild World》(美国著名乐队MR.Big曾翻唱)，《The First Cut is the Deepest》(Rod Stewart曾翻唱)和《Moon Shadow》等。1977年，Cat Stevens改信了伊斯兰教并将名字改成了Yusuf Islam。两年后，他逐渐从流行音乐界淡出。1981年，Yusuf Islam开始创作一些宗教题材的歌曲。迄今为止，他在他自己的Mountain of Light厂牌已经发行了10张单是鼓加人声的专辑，而这些内容被他精选收录到了最近的专辑《Footsteps in the Light》当中。

 

春节的时候，我在凤凰卫视诺贝尔和平奖音乐会上第一次听到了yusuf，第一次听到，就非常非常喜欢。他的声音非常干净，非常纯粹，就是我喜欢的那种类型。如果中国有他的专辑，我很想去买。
