Ado X Performance built this unique four-door RS6 from a humble A6 and plenty of genuine RS6 components

The current generation of the Audi RS6 is only available in Avant bodystyle but a German shop created a custom sedan conversion which is reportedly the first of its kind.

The pictured Audi RS6 sedan was built by Ado X Performance which is no stranger to similar projects. The project is a follow-up to the custom Audi RS6 C7 sedan, which was completed a few years ago. Now the team stepped up the game with the newer model which looks very close to what a factory-spec model could look like.

The unique build was highlighted in a video by Auditography, with exterior, interior, and driving footage shot in the stunning views of Kaunertal, Austria.

The project started with a humble Audi A6 C8 30TFSI sedan, which served as the donor vehicle and got retrofitted with a large number of genuine RS6 components. The exterior was upgraded with the A7-sourced headlights, deep bumpers, side skirts, wide fenders, and rear doors of the RS6. This means that the only parts retained from the stock sedan are the greenhouse, front doors, roof, tailgate, and LED taillights.

The car rides on a set of 22-inch BBS CH72 alloy wheels with a gold finish contrasting the custom-made Cristal blue shade of the exterior. For the interior, Ado X Performance sourced most of the ingredients from an RS6 Plus, adding bespoke forged carbon fiber accents alongside the factory-spec Alcantara and leather upholstery.

The model hasn’t only inherited the looks of the RS6 but also the mind-blowing performance. Under the bonnet lies a modified version of the mild-hybrid twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8, which now pushes out an impressive 854 hp (637 kW / 866 PS) and 1,123 Nm (828 lb-ft) of torque. This makes the unique sedan significantly more powerful than the Avant, which makes up to 621 hp (463 kW / 630 PS) and 627 lb-ft (850 Nm) of torque in the most potent RS6 Performance guise.

The power boost was achieved thanks to an ECU remap, the fitment of a Wagner intercooler, and a new intake system featuring larger turbo inlets and housing created by Ado X Performance. Furthermore, the tuner added 3-inch 200-cell downpipes with the stock oval tailpipes at the back. Last but not least, handling is being taken care of by a lowered KW V4 suspension and a four-wheel steering system.

Besides being more powerful, the model is also significantly lighter, tipping the scales at 1,880 kg (4,140 pounds) compared to the 2,150 kg (4,740 pounds) of the Avant. As a result, according to Auditography, the tuned Audi clocked a 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) acceleration time of 2.4 seconds during testing and has a top speed of 360 km/h (223 mph).

If such a vehicle was offered by the factory, it would make the ideal rival for the BMW M5 and the Mercedes-AMG E63 S. Audi offered sedan variants of the RS6 in the C5 and the C6 generations before the C7 and the C8 went Avant-only. Luckily for sedan lovers, this is probably going to change in the upcoming Audi RS6 e-tron as the fully electric model is rumored to offer both bodystyle options. However, an even more extreme RS6 with a combustion engine is coming our way, as hinted at by Audi Sport’s boss in a recent interview.
