〖新华网7月8日消息〗   一度备受争议的世界“新七大奇迹”评选于北京时间7月8日凌晨在葡萄牙首都里斯本揭晓，中国万里长城当选世界新七大奇迹榜首，其它当选的是：约旦佩特拉古城、巴西里约热内卢基督像、秘鲁马丘比丘印加遗址、意大利古罗马斗兽场、墨西哥奇琴伊察玛雅城邦遗址和印度泰姬陵。评选活动组织者向获得世界新七大奇迹国家的代表颁发了世界“新七大奇迹”的证书和纪念证章。
