    据专家考证，武安傩至今至少有500多年历史，文革期间视为迷信活动停止演出，1987年元宵节恢复。一般情况下，傩戏演出须三年连续举办，然后再停三年。如遇重大社会变故或自然灾难，随时应变。今年是连续办的第二年。
    武安傩戏的重头戏是捉黄鬼。捉黄鬼是一出沿街演出的哑剧，其角色有阎罗王、判官、大鬼、二鬼、跳鬼和被捉拿的对象黄鬼。黄鬼既是洪涝、虫害、疫病等灾异的人格形象，又是人间忤逆不孝、欺小凌弱等邪恶势力的代表。通过对黄鬼开膛抽肠和一系列仪式，表现了百姓战胜自然灾害，向往幸福生活的美好愿望。
