法国进餐必读

 1. Please make a reservation first. even in a neighborhood bistro

(附近的小餐馆). (就餐前,最好先预定,即使在小酒馆也一样)

2.You’d better be decisive.(点餐时,最后快作决定。) Too much hemming and

hmming (犹豫,磨蹭)can put your already-stressed waiter in a bad mood. Once

you've missed an opportunity to order, the wait can be very long indeed.

(如果你点餐时太磨蹭,会让那些本来就心急火燎的服务生心情很糟糕。而且一旦

你错过了点餐的机会,你得等很长时间。)

3.You should avoid awkward requests. (不要提很多傻傻的要求)(For example,

you order the omelettes(煎蛋)without egg yolks(蛋黄) and well-done steaks

-- when a chef takes pride in his work, these things make him bristle.

(好的厨师知道如何把食物做得最美味,别提一些很傻的要求,比如说煎蛋不要

蛋黄或者牛排烤熟点,这些会让厨师勃然大怒。)

4. Don’t order salad as an appetizer(开胃菜).  It’s usually eaten after

 the main dish as a palate cleanser. Usually the best deals are prix fixe

 (套餐)menus.,where you get an appetizer, main entrée (主菜)and dessert

 for one price. Or to keep you going until dinner, you can buy inexpensive

crepes at bakeries or on the street. And don’t take your after dinner coffee

with milk, unless you want the waiter to sneer at you.

(不要点沙拉当开胃菜,通常吃完主食后才吃沙拉清清嘴。最划算的是点套餐。

一个价钱就包括开胃菜、主菜和甜点。可现在摊贩或面包店买煎饼充饥。餐后咖

啡不要加牛奶, 除非你想让侍者嘲笑你。)

5. Don’t talk and laugh loudly. French have generally learned to keep their
 
voices down. Loud talking and laughing is frowned upon.

(在餐厅不要大声讲话或者大笑。法国人已经学会了压低声音。一旦你这样做,

定会引来鄙夷的目光。)

6. You should finish your plate whenever possible. The greatest compliment

you can give a chef is to send a clean plate back to the kitchen.

(如果可能,最后享受完你的美餐哦,把一只空盘子送到厨房 ,是给厨师最好的

赞美。)

7. You should ask for the check. It's considered the height of rudeness

for a waiter to present the check before the customers have asked for it.

( 要主动要求买单哦。如果服务生主动要求客人买单,会被认为非常无礼!)

8. Never use the term 'doggy bag(打包)'. Chances are the waiter (or chef)

will take the phrase literally and look horrified. You can say, “Can I

have a takeaway?” or “Can I take it away?”

( 千万别在法国餐厅用“doggy bag” 这个词,法国人会照字面意思理解为“狗食袋”。

你可以用另外几种方式说“我想打包”。)
