Teaching aims

Knowledge aims:

1.Students can understand the story.

2.Students can understand ,speak and read the new words : large, sharp, strong, weak, woke, bit, quietly, loudly, let...go, sadly, happily and know about adverb words.  

Ability aims:

1.Improve students listening,speaking and reading abilities.

2.Students can role play according to the story.

Emotion aims:

Students can understand the story implication:

Helping others is helping ourselves. Dont look down upon the weak.

Important and difficult points:

Important points:

1.Students can understand the story.

1.Students can master past tense and role play according to the story.

2.Students can understand the story implication.

Teaching and learning aids: PPT , pictures, word cards

Teaching procedures:

ALead-in

1.Free talk : Ask students to describe the teacher.

T: What can you think about me? Let’s say.  S: 学生描述。

2.Brain storm:

Show 2 pictures of the lion and the mouse.Then ask students to describe them.

T:What can you think about them? Let’s have a brain storm.

设计意图:通过让孩子们描述老师,吸引孩子们的注意力,同时引出本课的任务狮子和老鼠,并对他们的形象进行一个描述,渗透新词largestrongweaksharp 

B.Pre-reading 

1. Guess:  

T: If a lion meets a mouse, what will happen? Discuss in pairs. S: Maybe…

设计意图:让学生根据自己的想象,谈论狮子和老鼠相遇后会怎么样,培养学生的表达能力和创新能力。

2.Show the topic

T: We’ll read a story about a lion and a mouse. What happened in the story? Let’s have a look.   

3. Reading for gist  要求:快速浏览课文,用3-4句话简要说说故事内容。(给出提示词:First,Then,Finally)  

S: First, the lion caught the mouse, but he let the mouse go. Then, the mouse helped the lion. Finally, they became friends.  

设计意图:通过快速阅读课文,并用曾经学过的句型概述课文内容,训练学生获取信息和概括能力。

C.While-reading:

1.Read Picture1

Look at the animals,then ask students “ what were the animals doing?”

And “Why?”

T: All of the animals are afraid of the lion. How about the little mouse?

设计意图:结合图片去理解故事,同时引导学生进行根据图片发挥想象,丰富故事的内容,也为后面的表演做铺垫。

2. Read P2

 (听第二段)T: When the mouse walked by, what was the lion doing? How do you know?   

S: Woke up.  

T: Explain in English or use body language.

T: The lion caught the mouse, and he was very angry.

T: But look at this picture, was he angry? He was laughing. What were they talking about? Ask students to read the dialogue, Then teach “quietly”,loudly”. Then ask students to read in pairs. T: So then, the lion let the mouse go.   

设计意图:本部分故事的讲解,主要通过想一想、读一读、演一演来进行,通过这些形式学习副词及其意义。

4. Read P3-5  

T: What happened then?

Lets read P3-5, try to ask some questions about it in groups. You can use these words.(出示一些疑问代词)

要求:读P3-5,组内试着根据故事内容相互提问并回答。

S: Read and discuss in groups.  

T: Just now, you asked some questions.

Now, lets playTic-tac-toe. Group A asks, and Group B answers,if you can answer correctly, you can mark the space. If you win the games, you can get 3 points.  

T: So which group answers first? Rock paper scissors, go!

S: 游戏。

T: Let’s listen and repeat.  (在跟读的过程中,教net,bit ,sadly,happily)   

设计意图:学生不仅要能能回答问题,更要培养他们提问的能力,尤其是能根据文章内容用适当的疑问词来提问。这是一个开放的环节,但同时也要基于对文本的理解,同时锻炼学生的小组合作,倾听理解以及表达能力。

5.Read and order.

6.Think and Say: Then students can understand the meaning of the story.

Helping others is helping ourselves. (帮助别人就是帮助自己). Don’t look down upon the weak.(不要小瞧弱者)  

设计意图:通过两个问题引出两个道理,给学生情感上的正确引导。  

D.Post-reading:

Act the story out. 

角色分配: lion, mouse, Narrator.

设计意图:通过故事表演,可以让孩子们提高综合运用语言的能力。

E.Homework:

1.Make a short play according to the story.

2.Try to share the story to your parents or friendsand tell them what you learn.

3.Read more fables. (寓言)
