pep talk, change of heart, wish list, hangover, think twice, exclusive, with a bang, a sign of relief, handler, random:

Pep talk, 意思是给别人打气的动员讲话。A half-time pep talk from the coach helped the team turn the tide and win the game. President Obama gave the Senate democrats a pep talk, urging them to make history by passing the health care bill.

Change of heart, 意思是改变主意。The bride had a last minute change of heart and chose to have a simple ceremony in Las Vegas. The coach had a change of heart right before the game and decided to use the veteran quarterback. The Congressman had a change of heart and voted against the bill.

Wish list, 意思是愿望清单，指特别想要的东西。The expecting couple created a wish list on the online toy store for all the things they want for their baby. Santa Claus is accepting Christmas wish lists by text message.

Hangover, 是宿醉的意思。I have a nasty hangover this morning from the party last night. Dark drinks like bourbon or red wine make for a worse hangover compared to lighter drinks like vodka or gin. Coffee leads to more dehydration and can make your hangover worse.

Think twice, 三思而后行。You need to think twice before making the investment. Experts say you’d better think twice before giving someone a pet as gift. The new security measures will make air travelers think twice before booking tickets.

Exclusive, 独家的，独有的。An exclusive interview. The Golf Channel will have exclusive rights to the Tournament. The kidnappers gave the local TV station exclusive access to film the hostages. AT&T is the exclusive carrier of iPhone. The entertainment news web site posted exclusive photos of the movie star’s wedding.

With a bang, 意思就是猛烈的，刺激的，热火朝天的。The retired boxer came back with a bang. The winter storm began with a bang. The box office is ending the year with a bang.

A sigh of relief, 是松了一口气的意思。Fans breathed a sigh of relief after x-rays showed the quarterback suffered no major injuries.  Investors let out a sigh of relief after seeing the improved job figures. Microsoft lawyers heaved a sigh of relief after EU dropped their antitrust case against the company.

Handler, 有顾问和助手的意思。在美国，名人周围都会有一群人帮他们打点形象。The governor’s handlers advised him to stay away from the hot button issue. Tiger Woods’ handlers have been covering his infidelities for years. Sheen’s team of handlers desperately tried to control the damage of his arrest.
