这张3CD合辑收录了经典、地道的古巴音乐，其中cd1是流行歌曲，cd2是吉他音乐，cd3是古巴音乐家恩纳斯托·莱库纳创作的钢琴音乐。

古巴音乐是西班牙民族音乐和黑人歌舞文化的混合产物。“在古巴，音乐就像河水一样流淌。” 古巴由于地处南北美洲的正中央，连结着两地文化，成为了许多音乐风格的诞生地。我们时常可以在流行乐中听到古巴节拍的存在，以至于我们听到这种节拍脑海里就会自动产生哈瓦那的既视感。但其实古巴音乐人也在不断进步，不断接受世界各地新元素。古巴音乐的多种形式都应归因于拉美地区本就十分活跃的、多民族的文化交流和融合。

恩纳斯托·莱库纳（Ernesto Lecuona）是二十世纪上半页古巴最重要的音乐家，他是一位具有旋律写作天赋的作曲家。莱库纳的作品均具有吸引人的力量，被推举为“古巴的格什温”。他一共写了406首歌曲，部分被改编成各种乐器演奏。他的176首钢琴作品在二十世纪钢琴音乐体系中是非常重要和重大的贡献，是古典、通俗与民间音乐的大集合，被公认为是一种“终极跨越”的作品。另外，他还创作了37部室内乐，以及电影配乐、一些歌剧、芭蕾等作品。
