这张专辑是古典吉他演奏家村治佳织的录音，“lumieres”法语原意为“光亮”、“光辉”，其名如当今的村治佳织——冉冉升起的一颗新星，如日中天、光彩夺目。

专辑的曲目非常丰富，除一首日本作曲家吉松隆（yoshimatsu takashi）的作品外，基本上以法国作曲家的作品囊括整张专辑。萨蒂的《裸体歌舞3首》中的第一、第三和具有先锋派创作手法的《玄秘曲》、德彪西的《棕发女郎》和《月光》、拉威尔的《悼念公主的帕凡舞曲》。专辑中还有几位法国作曲家的作品，是平时少见的，也是专辑的亮点。如已故的彼埃尔·德·布雷维尔（Pierre de Breville，1861-1949，法朗克的学生）的作品，还有作曲家兼吉他演奏家的弗朗西斯·克雷杨斯（Francis Kleynjans，1951-）、罗兰·迪安斯（Roland Dyens，1955-）的作品。专辑末尾是法国配乐大师米歇尔·莱格朗（Michel Legrand，1932-）的著名乐曲《1942年夏天》，非常动听。
