这张专辑是指挥大师多拉蒂率领伦敦交响乐团，演奏斯特拉文斯基的管弦乐曲《焰火》、芭蕾舞剧《火鸟》、交响诗《夜莺之歌》等名作。

这张专辑是Mercury最为著名的发烧录音之一。《火鸟》虽然已是30年前的录音，但其音效仍会让现在的许多录音黯然失色，它不但曾是TAS榜上发烧片，演奏更是无懈可击。《夜莺之歌》录音同样杰出，演奏敏锐、扣人心弦，其他短曲也表现得生动活泼。这是一张不买必定终生遗憾的唱片。（《英国企鹅唱片指南》三星带花）

《HiFi音响》：多拉蒂的斯特拉文斯基芭蕾乐演译，固然够狠够劲；然而他指挥的这些音乐还有一个共通点，就是形象极鲜明，角色栩栩如生，呼之欲出。比较他在Mercury和Decca两个不同时期的《火鸟》录音，基本概念没变。壮年的多拉蒂更狂放，去得更尽；这样有个性的演出，恐怕今日的指挥家是畏于造次了。乐队准绳度方面，伦敦交响和底特律交响都表现优异；乐团表情变化幅度之大，不得不写个“服”字。个别乐器独奏乐句是另一位亚杜——Dutoit处理得精巧些，不过Dorati把故事的张力保持得更紧凑，布局更戏剧化。
