于右任，（1879-1964）原名伯循，字诱人，后以“诱人”谐音“右任”为名，以字行，陕西三原人。国民党元老，近代书法大家。笔名神州旧主、大风、太平老人等。于右任幼年丧母，备尝艰辛，十一岁入私塾“读经史、学诗文”，打下坚实的国学基础。十七岁以第一名成绩中秀才，入三原县学。二十岁以岁试第一，入补廪膳生，目为“西北奇才”。二十五岁时，以第十八名举于乡，逢甲辰恩科考，他踌躇满志，赴开封应礼部试被人告密，言其写诗倡言革命，清廷下令通辑，右任亡命上海，易名刘学裕入震旦学院，襄助公学，筹办《神州日报》，投身时事涡流。1906年，东渡日本，加入同盟会，追随孙中山革命。辛亥革命成功，于入主国民政府，历任要职。1931年，任国民政府监察院院长，1949年去台，1964年逝世。

1932年他发起组织“标准草书社”，致力整理，并以古代童蒙识字用的《千字文》内容为研究对象，由此诞生了《标准草书》。
