cloth通常用指“布料，布匹（不可数）”“布块，桌布（可数）”
clothes译为“衣服，服装”；通常指套装，即成套的服装。
clothing也译为“衣服”但是是衣服的总称，另外clothing还有“衣着”的含义。

若不考虑其细微区别，两者常可换用(注：一个是复数，一个不可数)。如：

garment包括各种衣服，如时装等，还有设计等意思在内。在美国，如果说服装厂，一定是用garment factory,决不会说clothes factory.我们把garment译成：服装，把clothes译成：衣服
