Teaching Aims

3.理解并熟练掌握语篇的重点句型和重点结构的用法。

Teaching Key and Difficult Points:

Key Points:

  1. Learn some detailed information about the Amber Room.

  2. Improve students' reading ability.

  3. Train students' speaking ability.

Difficult Points:

  1. Let students master the skills such as fast reading, careful reading and getting the main idea of each paragraph or passage.

  2. Get students to understand the structures and meanings of some difficult sentences.

Teaching Procedures:

Step1: Lead-in

 T:Hello, everybodyToday we will learn the text In Search Of the Amber Room. First, I want to show you some pictures and use the words in UNIT1 to describe them.

some amber pictures.  adj. rare, valuable, beautiful, crystal, amazing, etc.

 T: Maybe you have guessed what they are? Yes, there are amber.

    Can you imagine building a room using amber?

 Ss: It's unbelievable.

Step2. Reading

 1. Fast Reading

 T: Read the text quickly, trying to find out the main idea of the text.

(2) T: Excellent. Ok, class, just now you have learned about the main idea of the passage, which is about the strange history of the Amber Room. Next, read the passage quickly and find out the main idea of each paragraph.

 T: Read through Para.1 and fill in the blanks.
