Description

Octreotideacetate is a long-acting natural somatostatin synthetic analogue and a more potent inhibitor of growth hormone, glucagon and insulin than somatostatin. Clinically, octreotide is mainly used to treat esophageal variceal bleeding caused by portal hypertension, acromegaly, gastrointestinal bleeding such as cirrhosis, esophageal variceal bleeding.
