春分，是中国传统二十四节气（the 24 traditional Chinese solar terms）中的第四个节气，通常开始于3月20日或21日。这一天，太阳直射赤道，昼夜时间相等，都是12小时。

The Spring Equinox，as the fourth term of  24  traditional Chinese Solar Terms， usually starts on Mar 20 or Mar 21. On Spring Equinox day, the sun directly blazes down the equator, so the day and night is approximately equal in length with 12 hours each.

春分以后，太阳继续向北半球移动，气温持续上升。

After Spring Equinox day, the sun continues to move to the north hemisphere and the temperature continues to rise.

春分时节，气候舒适、风景优美，人们喜欢去远足、放风筝等。同时，气温回暖，土地变得松软，是种植农作物的好时节，所以农民们在那段时期都很忙。

During the period, the weather is comfortable and the scenery is beautiful, so people are likely to go out for a hiking. Warmer temperatures thaw frozen ground to make it easier for planting crops, so the farmers are often busy.

春分时期也有很多的习俗，比如竖鸡蛋。竖蛋是一个追溯至四千年前的古老风俗。人们通过这个传统庆祝春天的到来。据说在春天的第一天，太阳位于地球两极的中央，由于特殊的重力作用，鸡蛋很容易被竖着放置，如果有人能够将蛋竖起，他就会在未来拥有好运。

There are a lot of customs during the Spring Equinox, for example，Egg-standing games in some regions. It is an old custom that dates back to 4,000 years ago. People practice this tradition to celebrate the coming of spring. It is said that due to the sun's equidistant position between the poles of the earth on the first day of the spring, special gravitational forces apply. If someone can make the egg stand, he will have good luck in the future.
