Adverbial Clause教案

I. Teaching Aims :

1. The students will learn about the Adverbial Clauses by watching a flash.

2. They will know the 6 kinds of the Adverbial Clause

3. At the end of the class, they can do some multiple choices and translation

VI. Teaching procedures:

Step 1: Show the students a flash about the usage of adverbials and also draw the students attention.

Step 2: The students will learn the 6 kinds of adverbials and their conjunctions.

状语从句 The Adverbial Clause

一.什么是状语从句?状语从句在句中作状语,修饰主句中的动词、形容词或副词等。在复合句中作状语的句子叫做状语从句。状语从句放在主句之前时,常用逗号分开;放在主句之后,一般不用逗号。

二.状语从句的种类:

  1时间状语从句:

  常用when, while, before, after, since,    until, as soon as等连词来引导。

    例如:昨天我们到校时,正在下大雨。

    It was raining hard when we got to school yesterday.

    他在做作业的时候,电话响了。

    While he was doing his homework, the telephone rang.

   他中学毕业后,便去一家工厂上班了。

   After he finished middle school, he went to work in a factory.

   让我们等到雨停吧。

   Lets wait until the rain stops.

   等车停了才下车。

   Dont get off until the bus stops.

  他一看见警察就跑。

  He ran away as soon as he saw the police.

  从他起床以来,已连续工作三个小时了。

  He has worked for three hours since he got up.

2.条件状语从句:

条件状语从句:

(1)条件状语从句通常由if, unless引导。

例如:如果明天下雪,我们怎么做?

What shall we do if it snows tomorrow

不要离开大厦,除非我叫你走。

Dont leave the building unless I tell you to.

2)在时间状语从句和条件状语从句中,一般将来时要用一般现在时代替。(主将从现)

   我一到纽约就给你电话。

   Ill ring you up as soon as I get to New York
   明天我若有空,就帮你学英语。

Ill help you with your English if I am free tomorrow.

她不会迟到,除非生病了。
She wont be late unless she is ill.

(3)“祈使句 + and (or)+ 陈述句” 在意思上相当于一个带有条件状语从句的复合句。    

例如:赶快走,不然你会迟到。
Hurry up, or youll be late.
努力学习,你就会通过考试
Study hard and you will pass the exam.

3. 原因状语从句:通常由because(语气最强,表示直接原因,可用于回答 why 提出的问题), since,as(两者所表示的原因都是人们已知的,而不是表示直接原因)引导

  他没来,因为有重要的事要做。

   He didnt come because he had something important to do .

4.结果状语从句:通常由sothat,suchthat…引导。

她学习如此努力,以致她在这次考试中考得最好。

She worked so hard that she did best in this test.

她是那么好的老师,每个学生都很喜欢她。

She is such a good teacher that all the students like her.

She is so good a teacher that all the students like her.

6. 目的状语从句:通常由so that引导。

为赶火车,我六点就出门了。

I left at 6:00 so that I could catch the train.

7.让步状语从句:

通常由though,although,even though/if,

whetheror(不管…还是…)引导

他虽然很困,但还是没有很早去睡。

He  didnt go to bed early though he was very sleepy.

尽管现在有点晚了,我还是要尽力独自把工作完成。

Ill try to finish the work myself even though/if it is a little late now.

不管你信不信,这都是事实。

Whether you believe it or not,it is true.

Step7: records after teaching

     本堂课是语法课,对于语法知识,学生一向是似懂非懂,一知半解,在解题的过程中也是想套语法又套不上,基于这种情况,本节课系统地对状语从句进行讲解,并指出其解题关键,解题方法,并在讲解完后,配以一定的练习,进行巩固,收到了良好的效果。

   但是在讲解的过程中发现:学生之所以语法掌握不好的原因主要是:语法知识本身比较凌乱,学生记忆中的知识也不全面;语法比较枯燥,学生不感兴趣。

   基于这些,在以后的语法课上,要更注重学生的活动,让学生在动中学,活动要设计稍多点,避免单一活动给学生带来的枯燥。
