《红楼梦》共一百二十回，100余万字。全书通过贾、史、王、薛四大家族兴衰的过程，利用纷繁丰富的社会人生图景，描述了在政治、道德、婚姻、文化、教育、财产等方面错综复杂的矛盾冲突，揭露了封建家族的穷奢极侈，荒淫腐败，必然走向灭亡的历史命运。 邓伟标突破传统认知的种种偏见，以自我而独特的音乐手法重塑了《红楼梦》中十二位女主角独立而丰富的人物性格。
