专辑介绍: 

在纽约的中国城，有一个成立28年的纽约中国民族乐团，
她固守着自己独特的民族风格，从不追星崇洋，
以每年近30场的示范演出，向华人及喜欢中国音乐的西方人
士宣传中国的传统音乐。
“纽约中国民族乐团”创办于1961年，是全美历史最悠久、
规模最大的民乐团体。乐团团长、创办人张铨念已70多岁，
他精于二胡、中胡、笙、箫、笛、筝、三弦等乐器，
是纽约国乐界的前辈与高手，在港台、纽约等地久负盛名。
张铨念先生曾说：孔夫子喜欢古琴，中国文人也很偏爱它，
古琴具有很高的历史价值和丰富的表现力。国乐有七音，
古琴的按、捺、挑、拨可以变化出100多个音来，应该发扬光大。
张铨念先生退休后全身心投入到民乐普及工作中去，
他有两项绝招：一是他可以用流利的英语演说，
因为半数以上的观众是西方人；再是精彩表演，
演出结束之后并公开与听众交谈，回答问题，台上台下可以相互沟通
，可以让观众上台学习各种乐器的演奏，也可以由演员走近观众。
乐团一次受邀在宾州的国际艺术节演出，
因为每次至少可以携带6件以上中国乐器，
仅这一点就不仅征服了西方观听众，
而且台上台下融为一体把演出推向高潮。
